London, UK – July 15, 2025 – KPI OceanConnect, a global leader in marine energy solutions, has announced its financial results for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, demonstrating a year of strengthened market presence, strategic adaptation, and significant strides towards a decarbonized shipping industry.

Strong Financial Performance Amid Challenging Market Conditions

Despite persistent downward pressure on margins and challenging market conditions in various regions, the company delivered nearly 12 million metric tonnes of marine fuels, with revenue increasing to USD 5.7 billion. Earnings Before Tax stood at USD 9 million, reflecting a reduction primarily due to substantial investments in strategic initiatives aimed at future-proofing the business and supporting the industry’s energy transition.

Leadership Focused on Excellence and Inclusivity

A pivotal development this year was the appointment of Dorthe Bendtsen, formerly the company’s COO, as its permanent Chief Executive Officer. Her appointment underscores KPI OceanConnect’s commitment to operational excellence, inclusive leadership, and robust corporate governance. Bendtsen’s extensive background in corporate governance has been instrumental in building the company’s capabilities to guide clients through complex challenges such as decarbonization, digitalization, and evolving regulatory landscapes.

We’ve sharpened our focus on delivering smarter, more efficient and cost-effective solutions to meet the industry’s evolving needs,” stated Dorthe Bendtsen, CEO of KPI OceanConnect. “By putting people at the heart of our business, investing in the future structure of our organisation and building strong, values-driven partnerships, we’ve laid a solid foundation for long-term success.

Pioneering Low-Carbon Fuel Infrastructure and Market Expansion

KPI OceanConnect’s Alternative Fuels & Carbon Markets team, led by Jesper Sørensen, continues to expand the company’s low-carbon fuel infrastructure. This year marked a milestone with the delivery of the first waste-based HVO100 renewable diesel to cruise vessels in the Asia-Pacific region—a significant step forward in practical applications of sustainable marine fuels.

Additionally, the company supported B24 and B30 biofuel deliveries in key Asian bunkering hubs such as Singapore and Busan, further cementing its role in pioneering alternative fuel solutions. KPI OceanConnect’s biofuel supply network now spans over 150 terminals worldwide, enabling tailored fuel strategies across diverse shipping sectors, including cruise, container, PCTC, bulk, and chemical carriers.

These advances align with growing global regulatory pressures, such as FuelEU Maritime and the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), which are accelerating demand for compliant, lower-emission fuels.

The maritime industry’s journey to a low-carbon future will take time, but KPI OceanConnect is ready to lead it with integrity, insight, and a commitment to progress,Bendtsen added.

Recognized for Innovation and Global Expansion

KPI OceanConnect’s commitment to innovation was recognized with its inclusion among Thetius’s 150 most innovative maritime companies in the world. This acknowledgment highlights the company’s ongoing investment in new technologies, alternative fuel solutions, and inclusive business practices that deliver tangible value to partners and the wider sector.

Further solidifying its global footprint, KPI OceanConnect opened a new office in Tokyo, marking its fifth office in Asia. This expansion enhances the company’s ability to serve clients in one of the industry’s most vital markets and fosters deeper local engagement.

Commitment to Social Responsibility and Inclusion

Beyond its commercial achievements, KPI OceanConnect reinforced its dedication to social responsibility through its annual “50for50” initiative. This program successfully raised USD 122,300 for local charities selected by employees across its global offices, underscoring the company’s belief in the synergy between social responsibility and business success.

The company also launched its “Beyond Boundaries” initiative, a platform designed to address barriers to inclusion within the shipping industry and promote career development and representation for individuals from diverse backgrounds. This initiative highlights KPI OceanConnect’s holistic approach to fostering a more equitable and sustainable maritime sector.
