The Role: Bunker Trader — Houston, TX
As a Bunker Trader at Integr8, you will play a critical role in the company’s core commercial activities. You’ll be responsible for securing optimal terms with suppliers and acting as a key liaison between the market and Integr8’s customers. This position is ideal for a proactive and commercially minded trader who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Conduct market research, identify potential clients, and win new business for Integr8’s trading desk.
- Client & Supplier Relations: Maintain and grow strong relationships with third-party customers and physical suppliers.
- Sales & Negotiation: Handle bunker sales from inquiry to delivery, negotiate supply agreements, and close deals on competitive terms.
- Voyage Planning Support: Advise on ideal bunkering ports based on vessel routing and fuel economics.
- Platform Management: Contribute to the enhancement and day-to-day operation of Integr8’s bunker trading platform.
- Risk Management: Apply advanced strategies such as Fixed Forward Pricing (FFP), Physical Collar Contracts (PCC), and more to manage supply/sales contract exposure.
- Daily Reporting: Submit and review Daily Exposure Reports (DERs) to track trading positions and ensure alignment with corporate risk tolerances.
Candidate Profile
Professional Experience & Qualifications:
- 4–5 years of proven experience as a bunker trader, ideally in a global or multi-regional context.
- Strong ability to develop business and bring in clients from the outset.
- Demonstrated success in back-to-back trading and high-volume sales.
Skills & Attributes:
- Commercially savvy with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Team-oriented, yet capable of working independently and managing complex deal flows.
