Position: Bunker Trader (Korean Speaker) – Location: Singapore
This role is essential to managing and growing supplier relationships in the Korean and Japanese bunker markets. The successful candidate will serve as a key communication bridge between Integr8’s customer-facing traders and physical suppliers across Northeast Asia. A strong grasp of commercial negotiation, risk management, and regional fuel supply dynamics will be vital.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and identify new trading opportunities
- Engage with Korean (and potentially Japanese) suppliers to secure optimal fuel supply terms
- Support third-party bunker sales across a range of global clients
- Advise on ideal bunker ports and fuel sourcing strategies for vessels
- Use risk management tools (FFP, DFP, PCC, etc.) to optimize trading margins
- Maintain and develop supplier relationships through direct outreach and periodic in-person visits
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage contract exposure and daily reporting
Candidate Profile
- Proficiency in Korean is essential; Japanese language skills are a plus
- 1–2 years of experience in bunker trading, shipping, or fuel procurement preferred
- Commercial mindset with strong negotiation skills and a proactive approach
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to team objectives
- Strong relationship-building skills with a willingness to travel regionally (approx. 2x/year)
- Interest in shipping markets and exposure to commodity risk management practices
